The hottest logistics drives packaging reform

With the rapid development of modern science and technology and the strengthening of the trend of global economic integration, logistics as an advanced organization and management concept is widely accepted. Large and medium-sized cities in China have successively established or are preparing to build logistics industrial parks and logistics bases. For example, Shenzhen will establish eight logistics parks in a short period of time, including the western port area, Yantian port area, Sungang Qingshui River, airport, Pinghu, Longhua, Nanshan and Longgang. Digitalization, networking, informatization and large-scale logistics have become a major theme of China's logistics development. Third party logistics, which provides customers with all-round and integrated services, fast and convenient "multimodal transport" and convenient and timely "just in time" have lifted the worries of both production and marketing sides. However, the high-speed development of logistics industry also puts forward higher requirements for packaging, the carrier of commodity circulation. This paper is to look at the development of packaging in China from the perspective of the demand of modern logistics for packaging performance

as we all know, commodities inevitably go through "transportation", "loading and unloading", "in warehouse management", "packaging", "distribution", "circulation processing" and "information processing" in the circulation process. The quality of commodity packaging is very important in the logistics system, which directly affects the full play of the quality of all links of the logistics system. In order to comply with the requirements of all links of the logistics system and better serve the circulation of goods, the functions of modern packaging are no longer limited to the four functions of "accommodation", "protection", "convenience" and "promotion" in the traditional sense, but also have the functions of "transportation", "loading and unloading", "in warehouse management", "intelligent identification" and "information transmission". Therefore, in order to adapt to the development of logistics, modern packaging presents the following trends:

first, the containerization and informatization of packaging containers

in transportation, with the emergence of "multimodal transport" and "composite consistent" transportation modes, containers and pallets are used more and more. The international composite consistent transportation centered on container transportation in developed countries has accounted for 80% of the total transportation packaging, This greatly facilitates the packaging of scattered groceries. Using turnover containers to load groceries only needs corrugated boxes and pallets for initial packaging, which can be easily stored, kept and avoided damage. Moreover, when large containers and pallets are used for en route transportation, the goods in the box do not need to be reversed or replaced. In the logistics process, the transportation as a whole can not only limit and prevent cargo damage, but also improve the transportation efficiency

in terms of loading, unloading and handling, for short-distance transportation and distribution, more than two-thirds of the time is spent on the loading, unloading and handling of scattered goods. Therefore, it is particularly important to improve the efficiency of loading, unloading and handling of scattered goods and reduce logistics costs. With the improvement of the overall level of logistics facilities, forklifts, cranes and other machinery are mostly used for loading, unloading and handling of transportation packaging, avoiding the damage caused by manual rough loading and unloading; Mechanized loading, unloading and handling of forklifts and cranes create conditions for the realization of large-scale and integrated transportation of packaging containers, and the generalization of forklifts and cranes during loading, unloading and handling also promotes the standardization of large containers and pallets that escort your work. Therefore, the use of large containers and pallets for packaging products is conducive to the realization of civilized loading and unloading services, mechanized loading and unloading, standardized operation and scientific management; At the same time, large or integrated containers and pallets are used for transportation, and three experimental forces of 15kg, 30kg and 45kg are adopted for transportation, which is also convenient for mechanical forklift loading, unloading and handling, which is conducive to shortening the loading, unloading and handling time, so as to reduce logistics costs

in terms of warehouse management, containers or pallets can be neatly stacked and managed as a whole by using containers and pallets. With the increasing variety of containers, such as thermal insulation containers, ventilation containers and other functional containers, it is possible for a large container to be managed as a warehouse driven by such technical requirements. It no longer needs a traditional warehouse. In the process of logistics, it also saves a series of storage operations such as warehousing, acceptance, inventory, stacking, storage, outbound and so on, which reduces the requirements of products on the warehouse, Make the management of products in the warehouse easier to realize; In addition, when using containers and pallets as storage units to store goods in the warehouse, it can increase the stacking height of the warehouse, improve the storage density, improve the utilization rate of the warehouse capacity, and realize the automation of stacking of tools and molds in the high-rise goods warehouse, so as to reduce the logistics cost. When using containers as storage units to count, stack, transfer and other processes, Mechanical building separation operation can be adopted to improve the mechanization level of building separation of goods

in terms of information processing, digitalization, networking and informatization have become a major theme of logistics development. The combination of logistics and e-commerce has further promoted the process of packaging informatization. For example, the database and coding of logistics information collection, the electronization and computerization of logistics information processing, the standardization and real-time of logistics information transmission, the digitization of logistics information storage, the factory wide application of electronic ordering system (EOS), electronic data exchange (EDI) and other technologies all require product packaging to become information-based, and the automatic identification system and bar code technology should be properly applied to packaging. The automation of logistics, such as bar code/language/radio frequency automatic identification system, automatic building separation system, automatic access system and automatic cargo tracking system, can be realized only when there is a clear identification and readable information code on the package. At present, one-dimensional code can no longer meet the needs of product information description. Two-dimensional code technology, which is rich in product name, price, manufacturer, production date, weight, expiration date, inspector and other information, is gradually being used in product packaging. Of course, at present, most recognizable barcodes are printed by printers and pasted on packaging containers, which will bring some inconvenience to the informatization of packaging. However, with the improvement of the technology of printing machine recognizable barcodes directly on packaging containers, it will bring great convenience to the informatization of packaging products

Second, packaging enterprises have transformed from "traditional single packaging products" to "large-scale third-party packaging"

with the development of logistics flexibility, "multi variety, small batch, short cycle" products are increasing, which requires the packaging industry to have a strong ability to reflect the market. In order to reduce risk investment and inventory, the packaging industry is forced to move towards flexibility, that is, to quickly provide different packaging services for different products. With the liberalization of trade and the expansion of the global capital market, logistics companies have joined forces to establish logistics bases and logistics industrial parks. In order to adapt to the important trend of the rapid development of logistics, traditional single packaging products, whether paper packaging or plastic packaging, may be difficult to meet the needs of logistics enterprises' major customers for complete packaging solutions. Take a simple toothpaste packaging for example, it requires both plastic hose packaging, It also needs to use cartons for packaging, and its outer packaging involves the problem of corrugated carton packaging, which forces enterprises producing different packaging products to move towards the road of joint development, making breakthroughs in the quantity, quality and variety of packaging products, so as to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises

in addition, with the accession to the WTO, the export of China's products is increasing, and the demand for packaging is becoming increasingly stringent. The major customers of logistics enterprises are increasingly aware of the serious lack of the ability of internal packaging procurement, packaging research and development, and packaging planning. Therefore, more and more enterprises hope to adopt "outsourcing" and "contract" packaging methods to complete the packaging of products, This requires large-scale packaging enterprises to provide a one-step package solution, that is, product packaging planning, packaging production, packaging procurement, and product packaging are outsourced to third parties other than product producers and consumers, that is, the "large-scale third-party packaging" mentioned in this article. The larger the scale of packaging enterprises, the stronger the ability to adopt new technologies and technological innovation, and the more able they can meet the packaging needs of logistics parks and logistics bases. Therefore, with the development of logistics, "large-scale third-party packaging" will increasingly become a trendsetter in the market

in short, the rapid development of logistics is bound to bring significant changes to the development of packaging. Only packaging that meets today's logistics needs can become a leader in leading the trend and a well deserved modern packaging
